Missionary Letter.

This first photo is of Elder Schmidt and his old zone.  See him on the top row in about the middle of the row.

Below is Elder Schmidt's new companion when he first arrived in the mission.  This was the photo that would have been sent home to his parents with a letter from the mission president.

It's Zone Conference time.
That means a chance to get some photos of our missionary.  Below is a few words from Sister Smith about the conference.

I loved this round of Zone Conferences.  We have the most amazing missionaries!  They are so fun to teach because of their eagerness to learn.  We are growing, stretching, and seeing so many miracles in the NY YN mission.  The blessings of the Lord are abundant.  He loves his children and as we desire to serve him, act in faith, and go forth each day he puts people in our path who are ready and waiting for the truth of the gospel.  It is a message of hope and joy.  The gospel of Jesus Christ is the answer for the ills of today.  I believe this with all of my heart.  The Savior himself directs this work. I love him and I am on his team!

"The Standard of Truth has been erected;
no unhallowed hand can stop the work from
progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine,
armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth
of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent,
till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime,
swept every country, and sounded in every ear,
till the purposes of God shall be accomplished and the
Great Jehovah shall say the work is done”
(History of the Church, 4:540).
Below you see Elder Schmidt's back.  He still has his book bag around him.

If you look at the young men sitting in the distance of the next photo you will see Elder Schmidt again.

And this last photo of him again.  He looks like he just got caught doing something.  See the little smirk on his face. That was always his tell. Maybe he wasn't doing anything wrong but maybe he didn't want someone taking a picture of him eating or something.  Who knows?  He is a funny guy sometimes.

Our letter was super short this week.  I think that just means he is super busy doing the things he needs to do.  He hasn't even messaged us about anything either.  That is amazing.  He is really trying to do everything he can to do what is right.  I love that!  It's a good thing.

Hey Everyone,

This week was good.  Nothing spectacular happened, but we just had a really solid week getting to know a lot of the members in the branch.  We have been setting up appointments with them to teach some people.  One of our members has a friend that we are going to try and teach.  Our member is a little nervous about sharing the gospel but we know that if this goes well, then the entire branch will open up for us and it will be great!!

Anyways, I have to get going.  We're gonna go to Roosevelt Island on the tram.  Hope you're all doing great.
