Danielle is coming over now so we can paint a few things.
We have a bed frame, a table and chairs, a mirror, some yard statues, a ceiling medallion, some industrial letters, two lanterns, tin tiles, possibly a door, plant stands to paint, a cart,....and I think that's about it. Another words lots to do!
We may make a trip to a store for a little paint before we begin, but that should just about do it! It should be fun. Kevin said this should be the true test. If we can work together getting this done, then he won't be worried about the rest. I just laughed. It'll be fine!
Later Lexi wants to go to Half Price Books to look around. She has become quite the reader lately. She got two sets of paperback books (because she requested paperbacks) for Christmas and has completed reading both sets! Each set contained 6 or 7 books each. The first set was the Harry Potter series. The second I can't remember the name, but it had 7 large books in it. I love that she likes to read! All of my kids love to read. I think that trait was planted deep within their DNA many generations before because there are avid readers on both sides of our families. It's a good thing!
I found this recipe that looked yummy and thought we would gift it a try. What do you think??
Salted Caramel-Chocolate Dump Cake
1 small (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding
1 1/2 cups cold milk
1 box Betty Crocker SuperMoist devil's foof cake mix
1 1/2 cups chopped soft caramels
Coarse sea salt for sprinkling
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Whipped cream, for serving (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Lightly grease a 13 by 9 inch pan and set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk together chocolate pudding and milk for one minute to combine.
Add cake mix ONLY and stir until thoroughly combined.
Spread batter evenly into bottom of prepared pan (batter will be thick). Sprinkle with chopped caramels. Sprinkle with sea salt to taste (remember a little goes a long way).
Bake cake 30-40 minutes or until edges pull away from sides and a toothpick inserted in the cake portion comes out clean.
Remove cake from oven and let cool on a cooling rack.
Microwave chocolate chips on high for 2-3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, until chocolate is fully melted. Using a spoon, drizzle chocolate over cooled cake.
Serve cake with a dollop of whipped cream, if desired.
We ran over there and picked up a few things. While we were shopping we found stems of cotton so Danielle picked me up a few stems. I've been wanting some for quite a while now but didn't like the prices. Hobby Lobby had theirs on sale for $2.50 a stem. I would have bought them out if I could to make a wreath for my front door, but maybe another time. It's not that big a deal right now.
When we got home we ran to Joann's to pick up some paint. They were having a coupon sale. Danielle got 50, 40, and 20% off of everything! Pretty sweet, right??!!! This was our last trip. We hauled the letters I have and a couple other things to start painting. We got as far as painting the ceiling medallion and two of the 4 letters we need to paint. So far I really like the colors! Take a look at them...
As I mentioned before, we are spelling out the couple's last name with these industrial letters. A couple of them are galvanized so those won't be painted. All the others will be painted shades of the wedding colors. I started collecting as soon as Danielle told me she thought Chance was "the one", but I only bought the letter "A" then. That way if something happened we could still use the letter in Lexi's room since her given name starts with an A. After our trip to Hobby Lobby my flower bucket has grown! Yikes!!!
Danielle sent me photos of the TWO totes she has full of flowers today.
Take a look...
I still need to pull everything out of my bedroom closet too. We have tons of flowers! So, why do I still feel like we need more??? It will come together. My SIL has six totes of greenery that we will use. That will help a lot! We will figure it all out.
Lexi did her workout again tonight and I did it too. This time I did a little more than last time. I'll keep adding as long as my knee cooperates, but so far so good! She does a jump rope thing because it's a full body cardio workout. Crazy girl! I still can't jump as long as Lexi can, but I'm getting better. I've been wanting to do something like this for a long time now, so this is a good thing!!! I put a smile on Lexi's face every time I jump. LOL! I'm glad she gets a chuckle out of watching her old Mom. Well, it's way past my bedtime and I still have another load of laundry of my clothes and Kyle's uniforms to wash too. Looks like I will be up late tonight. That's okay. I slept in this morning. It's all good.
Take care my friends and we will talk again soon.
