Just a few random questions....

1.  We celebrate Veteran's Day in the US of A on November 11th.  When did you last interact with a member of the armed forces (either currently serving or retired)?  Have you ever written a letter to a soldier, bought a meal or coffee for a soldier, said a unprompted thank you to a soldier you encountered out and about somewhere?  If you're not in the US, comment on a similar holiday in your own country.
Anytime I talk to my dad, I am interacting with a member of the armed forces.  My dad is a retired Air Force Master Sargent.  I spent all of my time as a child and as a young adult around military personnel since we lived on two of the Air Force Bases out of the 3 he was stationed at.  No, I have never written a letter to a soldier, no I've never bought a meal or a drink for a soldier either.  BUT, I have thanked a couple of soldiers for their service when they happened to mention that they served overseas.  It's funny what some people talk about in a line at the grocery store.

2.  You can have fifty pounds of anything at all (except money)...what would you choose???
Hmm.....Oh, I think I would choose ice-cream!  Yum!  Wouldn't you?

3.  When did you last receive an invitation in the "real" mail?  What was it for and did you attend?  When it comes to RSVP-ing, are you an "early responder" or a "last minute, barely-under-the-wire" kind of guest?
The last invite I received in the mail was to a wedding reception and No we did not attend due to Kevin's health issues.  I would have LOVED to have gone.  As far as RSVP-ing goes, it depends on the event, although lately I've been a bad guest and NOT responded at all.  I know, I know....I need to change my ways.  :)

4.  What's something you really don't like to waste?
TIME!!!  Grant it, what one considers as wasting time is not what another would consider it to be.  So, it may well be that I waste time depending on who you ask, but in my humble opinion, I do not have much time to waste.  I'm too busy.  I think it is all about a healthy balance of busyness.  We must stop and smell the roses once in a while in the midst of our busyness.  And, grant it, that is sometimes difficult!.........To say the least.

5.  Cheers, Friends, MASH, Seinfeld....of the ones listed, your favorite long-running sitcom?
I would have to say Friends.  We use to watch every episode and knew all the characters and their lines.  I can honestly say, I do not care for much reality TV.  I prefer something with a plot.  I would have to say The Cosby Show and Rosanne are a couple I watch any chance I get.  I think it's because I get that "at home" feeling whenever I watch those shows.  Not because either show was anything like my home life, but because it takes me back to a time in my life.  Not to mention, our entire family liked both shows.

6.  What decisions are you glad you made?
Oh, I can think of several.  1) To come with my parents when they moved back to Arizona after my father retired from the Air Force.  2) To listen to the promptings I received from the Holy Ghost when I decided to marry my husband, even though our Bishop's mother tried to talk me out of it several years ago.  (I barely know her then too.)  3) To be baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  And so many other decisions I have made in my life....I could go on, and on.  -smile-

7.  In this month of "Thanksgiving" what is one thing that's different today than it was a year ago that you're grateful for?
Oh, where do I begin.....Having a daughter that has moved out and is living on her own.  She now appreciates her time with her parents more.  She's not as "mad at the world" anymore.  Now she is dating a nice young man. (well, we think he is nice...we haven't met him yet. Maybe on Thanksgiving?) Who knows where this will lead????

8.  Insert your own random thought here....
Tomorrow is going to be another busy day.  Kevin has a doctor's appointment with a specialist in Scottsdale.  I have a 2 hour doctor's appointment myself.  AND, I still have to work and take care of the family.  Crazy day!  At least I get to wear jeans to work that day!  Friday, Kevin and I celebrate our 27th wedding Anniversary.  Yeah us!  No, we do not have any big plans.  It all depends on how Kevin feels.  Shoot!  We may just take a drive or something for a few moments alone.  It really doesn't matter what we do, as long as we spend some time together alone.

P.S. For those of you MIL has moved in with my BIL, his wife, and their family temporarily until she can be more steady on her feet and get around without falling down.  She came home from the extended care facility last Thursday.  We found out shortly after she was home that she really needed someone with her 24/7.  So, we did our best to accommodate her as best we could.  Over the weekend we found that we needed to be at a few places and needed some help to cover the day, and we called my BIL and SIL.  They helped some, and by Monday morning they had decided to just have my MIL move in with them.  I think it has worked out pretty well for her.  I'm sure it's been some adjustment for all involved, but she seems to be doing okay.  Except for one fall in the middle of the night.  They have her set-up with a baby monitor and everything.  Which was a brilliant idea!  It's too bad we couldn't set one up at her home.  You know, with monitors at our home and my BIL's home too.  Then we all could keep an eye on her.  Who knows, maybe that should be something we look into once she is able to return to her home??  I know they have something like that.  With modern technology and all.  Anyway, that's kind of where it's at right now.  More to come....  Have a good night.  Talk to you soon.
